Stewardship Corner WHY PLEDGE TO THE CHURCH? Here are some reasons:
From birth to death THE CHURCH is there to bless us.
THE CHURCH preserves God`s teaching.
THE CHURCH baptizes us into Christ and gives us the Holy Spirit.
THE CHURCH offers God`s grace to us through the holy mysteries (sacraments).
THE CHURCH teaches us to repent regularly and to keep from self-righteous pride..
THE CHURCH assures God`s forgiveness to all who repent. " Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow," the Bible teaches.
THE CHURCH reminds us that we can not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
THE CHURCH offers us the BREAD of LIFE.
THE CHURCH teaches God`s will.
THE CHURCH teaches us not to be self centered.
THE CHURCH shows us how to love God and each other.
THE CHURCH teaches us to look after the poor.
THE CHURCH help us to honor marriage and the family.
THE CHURCH has the message of salvation for all humanity and we have the privilege of sharing it with all people.
THE CHURCH perpetuates the eternal message of Jesus Christ who taught us to seek first the Kingdom of God with the promise that all our needs will be met.
THE CHURCH speaks to us in a special way during illness and grief.
THE CHURCH gives us the assurance of eternal life with God.
THE CHURCH prepares us for the Kingdom of God.
THE CHURCH teaches us the correct kind of discipline.
THE CHURCH tells us on the Fridays of life (Crucifixion) that Sunday is coming with the Resurrection!
THE CHURCH gives hope to all..
Beloved Parishioners:  15% of families/members of our parish do not send in a pledge card and 48% of our parish family pledges less than $450 annually (an average of $1.23 per day) on their stewardship card, and every year on the average $12,000 of promised pledges are not fulfilled.
Please study the above reasons of "WHY SHOULD I PLEDGE TO THE CHURCH". Do you think that each one of those is worth $100 annually? Then my pledge should be $2,100 each year. If I give them a worth of $50 each my pledge should be half of that amount at least. We apologize for placing numbers next to these divine benefits. But numbers as the ancient Greeks used to say do not lie and the Lord during His public ministry on earth did not shy away from using numbers and percentages. (Five virgins were foolish and five were wise) (Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor and four times more to those I cheated). Please reconsider your present stewardship pledge in the card that was send to you lately. Thank you.

May your summer days be healthy, joyous and safe.
The Stewardship Committee

The Prayer Corner “For Health and Salvation”
If yourself or a loved one is going through a difficult time and would like the community to pray for you, please contact Fr. Christos or the Parish Office, and request to be added on the prayer list. We will list the first names only in the weekly bulletin for six months, or until you ask to be removed from the list. Fr. Christos will also make a special mention of these names at the Proskomede.
We also need to remind you to call Fr. Christos when someone is ill and hospitalized so Fr. Christos can visit the hospital or nursing home.
