THE EDUCATIONAL RELATIONSHIP OF THE TEACHER AND THE STUDENT
Fr. Christos Christofidis

-Students love their teachers when they are calm and believing in their teaching.
-The teacher must prepare the students for impending dangers that they will face, so they will not lose hope.
-The teacher does not teach what the student wants but those things that are in his curriculum.
-The teacher sows the seed of teaching when the student pays attention or not.
-The teacher presents the lesson with great care and diligence even if it seems difficult and heavy to the mind of the student and expects exact application.
-The teacher, teaches the students by his example of meekness, to avoid self pride and arrogance.
-The good teacher has as an ally the grace of God and the characteristic of the excellent teacher is to correct the students with his advice and to invigorate with his power.
-The good teacher educates and corrects but does not put down neither forcibly compels the student.
CHRYSOSTOMOS considers a crime when the teacher does not teach all the commandments of God with fear and care. And the teacher must search and study as not to fall into spiritual darkness and ignorance.
CHRYSOSTOMOS suggests: PATIENCE, DIALOGUE, DISCRETION, ADMONITIONS, without naming anyone in particular.
Teacher, refuse dialogue if it will damage the minds of others around. Do not try to teach (sell) only what you consider important or what you have accomplished. If the student does not accept the medicine easily, give it to the parents to administer. Young people must feel that we respect their freedom and that we will not force our opinions.
The goal/skopos of education.
The teachers, with whatever they do or say, guide their students in the joyful life which Christ has set.
