Upcoming Events A great welcome back to those who recently returned to us after being away during the summer months. These past two days our GOYA, their advisers, alumni, parents, and friends of our youth organization have done a splendid job hosting the South Florida Conference GOYA Survivor Event. Look for photos in the next Lamplighter and online soon.

Our Thursday Orthodox Study Group begins a reading of the Bible “in one year” on October 2nd. Our bookstore will have these Bibles within the next week for those who do not have one already. The Bibles are in the NIV version which is comfortable reading. We use the Orthodox Study Bible for clarifications and explanations. Come join us, all are welcome!

This year's committee chaired by Carla Petrakis, promises a memorable evening.

The 2007 committee did a magnificent job last year. It was chaired by Steve Stogiannis. His co-chairs Eleni Spanos & Dr. Michael Sofianos together with committee members Steve Pavlakos, Alice Sofianos and Fr. Andrew produced an event which brought in $15,000 for the parish.

Help this year's committee to do as well for our parish! More information on this our annual nameday celebration will be in the next, October, issue of The Lamplighter.

The Orthodox Study Bible-
Old and New Testament) is now available at our bookstore. We have a special introductory price, thanks to the publisher, of $35. When we reorder the price will increase. Visit our bookstore in the Hellenic Cultural Center after the Divine Liturgy or stop by the Church Office during the week. Sorry, our bookstore is not set up to ship orders.

Difficulty hearing the Liturgy?
The ushers in the Narthex have amplified devices you can borrow for the service (in fact our internet broadcast uses the sound from one of these devices).
