Stewardship
As we enter the halfway mark of the year, it is time to ask ourselves the following question. “Am I a faithful steward of my church?”
Last month we spoke about priorities. Do we pay more to our cable provider than we offer our church? Too often, we contribute very little in time, talent, and treasure to the Lord, and keep the rest for ourselves, leaving the Lord on the fringe. The aim of stewardship is to move God to the center of our lives.
We do not give simply because the church needs a new roof, boiler or HVAC system. This approach is nothing but begging. We give because God should be in the center of our lives, not on the fringe. It’s a matter of priorities.
Many of you soon will be leaving for well earned vacations. Before leaving, you will make sure to pay all your bills and attend to other such household matters. Is your stewardship to your church one of them? Have you offered or contributed towards your 2009 stewardship pledge? “Are you a faithful steward of the church?”
Please remember that your Holy Trinity Church is available to you, as always, 365 days a year. The summer is no exception. For your church, you, as always are its top priority.
