Responsibly Raising Responsible Children: The Teenage Years

Professor of Psychology at Southern Connecticut University - Specializing in Children’s Issues and Family Therapy will be the guest lecturer on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at 7:30 pm in the Parish House
After receiving many requests for a follow-up to her first presentation, “Responsibly Raising Responsible Children,” the Saint Barbara Philoptochos Society has invited Dr. Deborah Kraemer back for a lecture and discussion focusing on ‘The Teenage Years.’ It is our hope that we will all take the time to be present for this wonderful learning opportunity. For you convenience, a question box will be placed in the narthex of our Church. Please take the time to write any issues you would like addressed in the lecture or answered during the discussion period and place it in the box.
Saint Barbara 2004 Stewardship Pledge Cards Are Due
The Stewardship Pledge Cards for 2004 have been received by all parishioners. Please give dedicated and sacrificial attention to completing and signing your card as soon as possible with an eye toward helping your church reach its Stewardship goal. Last year’s Stewardship at Saint Barbara was our best year ever, and in preparation for the great opportunities which lie ahead in the life of this community, the Stewardship Committee is asking everyone to continue that trend and pitch in by increasing your pledge from last year at least 10% or $50, whichever is greater. This is part of the overall challenge from the Stewardship Committee for each of us to look toward meeting a personal pledge level of at least 1% of our annual gross income. While this is certainly less than the biblical call for tithing (that is, giving 10%), even a 1% level of support would provide our parish and her ministries with many exciting new opportunities, better ways to serve our parishioners and more ways to reach out to the community around us. (If you are already growing beyond that 1% level heading toward a fuller tithe, by all means continue to do so and do not reduce your pledge!).
