PARISH COUNCIL NOMINEES Our Parish General Assembly takes place on Nov. 22, when the slate of Parish Council Nominees are announced to be accepted. According to the UPR and our Parish Bylaws, all candidates must be Orthodox Christian members in good standing both spiritually and financially. Each candidate must attend the P.C. Candidate Seminar, on Mon., Nov. 23, 7 PM. Parish Elections are Sun., Dec. 13. Nomination forms are located on the Candle Stand.

CHOIR REHEARSALS Youth Choir Rehearsals for this year’s Christmas Program begin on Sat., November 14, 9:45-10:30 and continue on Sat., November 21, 9:45-10:30, Sat., December 5, 9:45-10:30, all in the Multipurpose Room. Saturday, December 12, 10:00-11:30 there will be a JOINT rehearsal with adults in main church.

CHRISTMAS WREATHS ORDERS Today is last day to order Christmas Wreaths. The proceeds benefit our GOYA Youth Program. We thank everyone for their support.

STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY TODAY is Stewardship Sunday. This is the official beginning to our 2010 Stewardship Program. We ask everyone to thoughtfully and prayerfully complete their card and place it in the bowl in the foyer. This year’s theme: “Come and See”, reminds us of our commitment to Christ. Offer a meaningful and truly sacrificial gift to God!

YOUTH EVENTS Our next ANGELS/HOPE/JOY meeting is at church on Friday, Nov. 13, 6:15-8:15 PM. Our theme is: “How Orthodox Christians are to be Grateful”. Please note that parents are required to come.

PRE-SALE FOOD & PASTRY ORDERS Please support the Bake Sale by placing pre-orders for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Try you best to support our Philoptochos. They offer so much and help so many important philanthropic causes. The Ladies are also selling Fillo dough.

NEIGHBORHOOD GATHERINGS As a part of our sharing news and the vision of our Capital Campaign, several families will be hosting neighborhood gatherings. Sign up sheets are available in the Parish Hall to choose the one that you would like to attend. Please note, that there will be no solicitations. The first one is Monday, November 9. Come and share the excitement of our parish vision, “From Dreams to Reality…Every Generation Glorifying God.”

FOYER UPDATE Structural issues on the roof under our HVAC units have delayed the foyer renovation. Drawings were re-submitted and permits will be granted soon. The front windows and interior will be completed after the roof and HVAC units are replaced. We anticipate a December completion date. Thank you for your patience as we work to complete in an exemplary manner.

OUTREACH The Philoptochos Outreach Committee is collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts through Sun., Nov. 29, for Interact's Annual Holiday Bazaar. See the flyer on the candle stand for more information and a suggested gift list or contact Laura Saparilas at 919-630-2490.

GUEST SPEAKER Come today 4 PM, to hear guest speaker, Penny Lauricella who is Executive Director of the Pretty in Pink Foundation. The organization helps breast cancer patients who have limited or no insurance to receive proper treatment.

SPIRITUAL BOOK CLUB DON’T MISS, Dr. Markides, author of two books on Orthodox Spirituality, when he visits our parish for two presentations, Fri., Nov. 20, 7-9 PM and Sat., November 21, 2-4 PM. Everyone is welcome! If you purchased his books bring them along to have them signed by the author.

25th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION This is the last Sunday to purchase tickets for the Ordination Anniversary. If you are a sponsor and have not received your tickets, please pick them up in the Hall. Coffee Hour next Sun., Nov. 15, will be in honor of Presbytera Evi and Fr. Paul’s, please bring a food/dessert item.
