CHRISTOS ANESTI!
Orthodox Christians greet each other with this joyous greeting “Christ is Risen” and the response is “Truly He has Risen”. Also, for forty days, we do not kneel during our worship, as kneeling is a symbol of penitence, whereas, standing is the sign of Christ’s victory and joy in our midst.
MEMORIALS: Today we observe the following memorials:
A 40 day memorial for Christos Koukos, beloved husband of Dorothy, father of Chris and his wife Cira. Grandfather of Alyssa and Danielle.

MISSION TRIP TO GUATEMALA!
Do you believe in miracles? Witness and be a part of your faith in action. Join the Wyckoff, NJ Mission trip to the Hogar Rafael Ayau Orphanage in Guatemala, October 1-8, 2009. We tell missionaries who come to the Hogar to let the children love them. This creates a little opening in their hearts. Because the missionaries are Orthodox like they are, the children see them as safe. “The children need to be loved” - Madre Ines, Abbess. Your mission is to spend time with them, listen and laugh with them, pray with them and feel the miracle of love. To join the missionary team with Father Jim and Father Mark as our spiritual leaders, contact Georgia Lipane, Team leader @ 201-906-4622 or glipane@speakeasy.net. An Awareness luncheon will take place in September. More info will follow. Visit the orphanage at www.hogarrafaelayau.org.
