CHRISTOS ANESTI! – Orthodox Christians greet each other with this joyous greeting “Christ is Risen” and the response is “Truly He has Risen”. Also, for forty days, we do not kneel during our worship, as kneeling is a symbol of penitence, whereas, standing is the sign of Christ’s victory and joy in our midst.
GENERAL ASSEMBLY – The St. Nicholas General Assembly will be held today, following Liturgy.
BIBLE STUDY GROUPS – Our afternoon bible study group will be held on June 5th after Ascension Liturgy... Our evening Bible Study group will not be meeting until Wednesday, June 11th at 7:00PM. All are welcome.
GREEK SCHOOL – Greek School graduation will take place on Friday, June 6th at 6:00PM. All of our Greek School students and families should attend this wonderful celebration.
SUNDAY SCHOOL – Sunday School graduation will take place on Sunday, June 8th following Divine Liturgy.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2008 – Children from St. Nicholas are invited to join us this summer –

PHILOPTOCHOS – Father’s Day is almost here! The St. Nicholas Philoptochos Society invites you to participate in our Father’s Day Community Card. This is the second year that we are compiling a Father’s Day card. The cards will be on sale in the Parish Hall during coffee hour. Please join us to honor the wonderful men in our parish and in our lives.
Grace Theodorobeakos will be hosting an end of the season gathering at her home in June for members. Look for upcoming details. Anyone interested in joining is also welcomed. CAMP GOOD SHEPHERD – Camp Good Shepherd is an Overnight Summer Camping Program sponsored by the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of NJ. We gather our young people (ages 8-18 as of July 2008) for 1 week of Orthodox Christian fun, faith and fellowship at the Linwood MacDonald Environmental Education and Conference Center in Branchville, NJ During this week we will learn about God and our Orthodox Faith while at the same time having a lot of fun in the sun. Activities will include: swimming, canoeing, hiking, archery, soccer, volleyball, basketball, wall climbing, capture the flag and dodge ball, as well as a ropes course and arts and crafts that will reinforce and a skit night. We promise that it will be a week to remember and a chance to make new friends!
The dates are Sunday, July 6th, 4:00pm thru 12:00pm, Saturday, July 12th, for GOYA and from 4:00pm Sunday, July 20th, thru 12:00pm, Saturday, July 26th, for JOY.
The cost per camper is $375.00 ($50.00) Late Fee after June 15th). This price includes 3 meals/day, evening snacks, room and board, all materials and some surprises! A Camp Store is available for those who wish to purchase additional items and their own.
