PENTECOST – Fifty days after Easter, the Apostles were assembled together (ACTS 2) and the Holy Spirit descended upon them and filled them with new life and hope. Today, we will offer prayers that this same Spirit of God descend upon us and fill us again with this joyous power that we too may become sons and daughters of the most High. Open your hearts to the words of our God and let His love be yours. This is the essence of Pentecost, marking the birth of our church and a new birth of God’s love in you and me.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY – The idea of honoring parents stems from the Holy Scriptures themselves. Honor thy Father and Mother, is one of the Ten Commandments. The father’s role as provider and head of the family is one that complements mother’s leadership and love in the home. We need to thank our fathers for their love and concern, as well as for their leadership in our families. Let us pray that God will bless them and guide their pathways to fulfill their fatherly position.

BIBLE STUDY GROUPS – Our afternoon bible study group will not be held tomorrow, it will resume again on June 23rd at 1:30pm. Our evening Bible Study group will be meeting until Wednesday, June 18th at 7:00pm. All are welcome.

“We tell the missionaries who come to the Hogar, Home for Children, to let the children love them. This creates a little opening in their hearts. Because the missionaries are Orthodox like they are, the children see them as safe. The children need to be loved.” Madre Ines, Abbess
