VISITING PRIEST FOR EPIPHANY Our Community is blessed to have Archimandrite Fr. Sebastian Skordallos visit with our Parish for the Feast of Theophany. Fr. Sebastian will celebrate Divine Liturgy on the 6th of January and participate in our Traditional Epiphany Celebrations.

We welcome him to our community and thank him for coming.



EPIPHANY SUNDAY This year the traditional procession to the sea and the service of the blessing of the waters will take place on the 6th January, 2008. A luncheon will follow in the Church Hall ($15 for adults $10 for children). All members are invited to attend both the services for that day and the following luncheon.



BLESSING OF HOMES Closer to Epiphany Sunday, the procedure for having your homes blessed by Father Teodor Bita will be published in the Bulletin, so that those members who wish to have their home or business location blessed can do so.




PHILOPTOCHOS YEARLY UPDATE
The Greek-Bahamian Philanthropic Society made the following Christmas donations:-

$300.00 – Ioana Karveli, Skopelos re Church Renovations

$300.00 – Katina Maragos, Kalymnos re lunchtime meals for needy

$300.00 – Philipas Olympitis, Director of a Handicapped Childrens Workshop, Kalymnos plus an additional $250.00 which came from private donations.

$300.00 – Unity House – 29 baskets were filled with blankets, towels, toiletries, etc.
Also several boxes of articles of food which were given by members of our Parish.

$300.00 – Hope Centre (Youth Against Crime)

$100.00 – Nazareth Centre

Many thanks to Mrs. Cally Papageorge who has generously donated, through the Philopthochos, an industrial Mixer to be used in our Church Hall Kitchen for preparation of pastries, meals, etc.

FR. KOLYVAS MEMORIAL / GRAVESTONE The Spring General Assembly passed the resolution to finalize the memorial for Father Kolyvas’ grave. The assembly authorized the expenditure of $20,300.00. Parish members who wish to contribute to the memorial in memory of Father Kolyvas are asked to see Mr. Alexander Maillis II. Memorial Pledge Cards are available and can be returned to Mr. Mark Henderson. The Parish Council thanks those members who already pledged at the General Assembly.
