Apolytikion (Plagal of the First Tone)
Eternal with the Father and the Spirit is the Word, Who of a Virgin was begotten for our salvation. As the faithful we both praise and worship Him, for in the flesh did He consent to ascend unto the Cross, and death did He endure and He raised unto life the dead through His all glorious resurrection. - Translation from Green Hymnal
Hymn of the Day (Afterfeast of the Theophany of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ)
When You were baptized in the Jordan, O Lord, the worship of the Trinity was made manifest; for the Father's voice bore witness to You, calling You His beloved Son. And the Spirit in the form of a dove reaffirmed the truthfulness of the word. O Christ our God, You were revealed from above and illumined the world, glory to You.
Hymn of the Day (Righteous Theodosios the Cenobiarch)
With the rivers of your tears, you have made the barren desert fertile. Through sighs of sorrow from deep within you, your labors have borne fruit a hundred-fold. By your miracles you have become a light, shining upon the world. O Theodosius, our Holy Father, pray to Christ our God, to save our souls. -Translation by Narthex Press
Apolytikion of the Church
Having seen the sign of the Cross in the sky and like Paul having received his calling from heaven, and not from men, Your apostle among Kings, Lord, placed his capitol in Your hand. Preserve our country in everlasting peace, through the intercessions of the Theotokos, for You alone are the Lover of mankind.
