Travels With Father
Fr. Demetri is away from the Parish today. He will be back on Thursday, 24 September. There will be no services at St. Elias today. However, the church will be open at 10:00am for anyone who would like to light a candle and say a prayer. Those who wish to attend the Divine Liturgy may attend any of the Orthodox churches in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, or Los Alamos.
Adult Education
We will meet this Thursday, 24 September, at 6:30pm in the Church Hall. We are reading "The Orthodox Way" by Metropolitan Kallistos Ware.
Fall Rummage Sale
Our fall rummage sale will be held on Saturday, 26 September, from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The location is the same as last year, 554 Juanita, on the corner of Paseo de Peralta and St. Francis, across the street from Owl Liquors. Please bring items to sell, price them yourself, sell them yourself, and give the proceeds to the church. If you don`t have anything to sell, come and buy something.
St. Elias Online Bookstore
We have an online bookstore for our use. Go to our website: http://www.stelias.nm.goarch.org and click on the link to the St. Elias Bookstore at the top of the page. You will be taken to the Orthodox Marketplace, an online store for Orthodox books, jewelry, icons, and most anything else you may want. We will receive a 10% commission on all purchase made at this site.
Recycling for St. Elias
We have found another outlet for used toner cartridges and inkjet cartridges, and this company will pay us directly for what we give them. When it`s time to get a new cartridge, please bring the used one to church, in its packing if possible, and we will recycle it. Every bit that we recycle means more funds for our parish. Please help with this free and painless way to raise money and protect the environment.
Do You Know?
If you know of people who are sick, or in the hospital, or need help, please tell Fr. Demetri so he can minister to them.
Stewardship
Everyone should have received a pledge card in the mail. Please fill it out and return it to the church by the end of the month. If you have not received one, please pick up a stewardship card, fill it out, and begin to make whatever payments you can afford. The community relies primarily on stewardship to pay the bills and conduct our ministries to God`s people. Please do not let us down.
Iconography
If you would like to contribute to the Iconography Fund and help us get closer to the next phase, feel free to leave a check or cash in the Iconography Donations box at the foot of the icon of St. Irene.
Albertson’s Community Partners Cards
The new cards are available and are on the candle table. Please pick one up and use it whenever you shop for groceries at Albertson’s. We get money back for each dollar we spend there when using our cards.
