“Come and See” Dear Steward of St. Andrew,

When Jesus called His disciples, we read that Philip brought Nathaniel to Jesus, telling him to “Come and See.” We also read in the New Testament of the Samaritan Woman at the well who left her bucket and went to tell the people to “Come and See….”
I invite you also to Come and See. Please be with us at Saint Andrew Church for three special Sundays beginning on November 1 and concluding on November 15. Over these three weeks we will worship together as we do every Sunday. In addition, we will learn more about our parish of Saint Andrew, our leadership, our ministries, and our vision for the future.
Come and See this beloved parish, be inspired the work of the Holy Spirit among us, and prayerfully consider your personal offering of time, talent and treasure to help us to grow our ministries. At the conclusion of these three weeks, on Sunday, November 15, we encourage you to bring your commitment card indicating the time, talent and treasure that you will offer as a member of the Church, the Body of Christ on earth.
Before completing your commitment card, please join us on these three Sundays. Give prayerful consideration to the commitment you are making. Come and See God work through your talents, skills and experience, as well as your financial support. Your offering to Christ and His Church can do as much as you empower it to do. We give to Christ and His Church not according to our means but according to our love for Him. Come and see what we can do together with your support.
I offer you my personal thanks for your generosity and partnership in Christ’s work of salvation.
Yours in Christ,
Rev. John Theodosion,
Economos

Share your Christmas & New Years Wishes Some volunteer, some donate. We know that our parishioners do both. Saint Andrew Philoptochos appreciate all that you do and we are grateful for your generosity which helps us offer hope and strength to those who are most in need.
The global economic crisis has affected each and every one of us. A greater number of requests for assistance have been presented to us and WE HAVE RESPONDED.
It is our tradition to mail Christmas and New Year’s greetings from parishioners to the entire church family. This year we will again select a Holiday Card which will be drawn by one of the children in our parish. Please print clearly how you would like your family name to appear and return to the church office. You may also submit your family name for our greeting card to any Philoptochos member on Sundays after church. Deadline for Greetings is November 30, 2009.
The donations you make this year will be set aside and will only be used to assist more individuals and families overcome these tough times.
We appreciate any assistance that you may offer.
Respectfully,
Saint Andrew Philoptochos

Are you, or have you ever been, a smoker? Are you a male over 55? St. Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Church is pleased to host a Life Line Screening Radiology preventive health event to scan for risk of an abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA). Life Line Screening Radiology uses hospital quality ultrasound technology to detect an enlargement or weak area in the main blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body. Warning signs of AAA often go unidentified and if ruptured, abdominal aortic aneurysms are 80-95% fatal. The screening will be held on Saturday, November 21st . Register for a Wellness Package with Heart Rhythm for $149. All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. Your Health is in Your Hands, so call 1-888-653-6441, or visit www.lifelinescreening.com, for more information or to pre-register.
