Resurrectional Apolytikion Fourth Tone

When the women Disciples of the Lord had learned from the Angel the joyful message of the Resurrection and had rejected the ancestral decision, they cried aloud to the Apostles triumphantly: Death has been despoiled, Christ God has risen, granting His great mercy to the world. -Translation by Fr. Seraphim Dedes

Apolytikion of the Church

The truth of your manner of life manifested you to your flock as a rule of faith and an icon of gentleness and a teacher of self-control. By humility, therefore, you acquired the things on high, and riches through poverty. Father Holy Hierarch Nicholas, intercede with Christ our God, entreating that our souls be saved. -Translation by Fr. Seraphim Dedes

Kontakion
In your holy birth, Immaculate One, Joachim and Anna were rid of the shame of childlessness; Adam and Eve of the corruption of death. And so your people, free of the guilt of their sins, celebrate crying: "The barren one gives birth to the Theotokos, who nourishes our life." - Translation by Narthex Press

Ecumenical Patriarch's Message for the Day of the Protection of the Environment

August 31, 2009
The present crisis offers an opportunity for us to deal with the problems in a different way, because the methods that created these problems cannot provide their best solution. We need to bring love into all our dealings, the love that inspires courage and compassion. Human progress is not just the accumulation of wealth and the thoughtless consumption of the earth's resources. ...Read Full Text >

From now until Wednesday, September 23 our community will be collecting funds for MDA, and following each Sunday Divine Liturgy, there will be a Parish Council member holding a basket as you exit into the Parish Hall. The goal set out by MDA to all those involved in this fundraiser is $1,600. So far we have raised $315.00.
