Orthodox Study Class
Father Florin, October 14, 2009
To the faithful of St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church in Bay Area,
This Saturday, October 10th, we will start our new calendar year with a Bible Study class. All parishioners and their friends, Orthodox or non Orthodox, are invited to attend. Our intent is to continue these Bible Study sessions on the second Saturday of each Month immediately following Vespers, from approximately 7:00 – 8:30pm in the Parish Home. It will be beneficial to attend Vespers prior to the Bible Study class in order to spiritually prepare and introduce the teachings of each session, as well as prepare you for the Divine Liturgy on Sunday.
Each session will have an explanation of the New Testament, starting with the Book of Matthew, of approximately 40 minutes followed by 20 minutes of open questions and answers related to the specific presentation. Our speaker will be Dr. ADNAN TRABULSI, and he is an MD specializing in Pediatrics. His goal is to treat not only the infant’s body, but to nurture the adults with the truth of our Orthodox faith. As result, he studied the Teachings of our Orthodox Church and was appointed by Bishop Basil from the Antiochian Diocese to teach the Orthodox faith in our area. He and his family are Orthodox, attending St. George Antiochian Church in Houston. He lives here in Clear Lake and also maintains his practice locally.
You are invited to bring a Bible, preferable the Orthodox Bible Study book, which will be used during class. If you do not have one please call our Office at 281-554-7223, or myself at 281-235-4263 so we can have a book reserved for you.
Please call me if you plan on attending so we can have enough refreshments for everybody present. This Saturday, we will have coffee, baklava, and loukoumathes as a special treat for our attendees.
Our intent is to help and save each other. Please answer the call and attend this valuable pathway to salvation.
May God bless you,
Fr. Florin
