Resurrectional Apolytikion Grave Tone

APOLYTIKION OF ST. NICHOLAS

An example of the Faith and a life of humility, as a teacher of abstinence you did inspire and lead your flock and through your truthfulness of your deeds were exalted by greatness through your humility uplifting all and by poverty gaining wealth. Father and hierarch Nicholas intercede with Christ our God that our souls be saved.

Kontakion
You were transfigured upon the mount, O Christ our God, and Your disciples, in so far as they could bear, beheld Your glory. Thus, when they see You crucified, they may understand Your voluntary passion, and proclaim to the world that You are truly the effulgence of the Father. - Translation by Narthex Press

For being twelve, they had five loaves only and two fishes; so secondary to them were the things of the body: so  ...Read Full Text >

Beloved Sisters and Brothers in Christ, Faithful Members of our St. Nicholas Church: May the Grace and Peace of the Lord be with you.

1. As we continue our journey in time and place, let us be mindful of our final destination. That will help us to make our life a “journey of faith,” as we strive to follow “the way of the Lord.” Bishop Kallistos of Diokleia reminds us

THE ROOF OVER OUR HEADS

Some of you may remember the story about our founding Father, The Very Rev. Father Daniel Gambrilis, when many years ago, a group of established members of the Parish was called to meet with Father on a matter of great importance. When the group arrived at the meeting, they found their Pastor ready with a great plan. He explained to them the need for the purchase of a school building and began the drive himself. Enthused by his explanation of the need and by his example, within 24 hours, $55,000 was collected; and the spacious School, named Homer, became the property of the Parish. Back then, $55,000 was a great deal of money and in today’s economy, would easily be well over half a million dollars. This example of the purchase of a building in only one day will be difficult to imitate, but we are being challenged once again.

OUR CHURCH IS IN DIRE NEED!

If you look at the beautiful icons on the walls and ceiling, we run the risk
