CHRIST IS RISEN! NOW WHAT?

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Once again, another Great Lent and Holy Week has come and gone. The crowds we witnessed for Holy Unction, the Lamentations, and the Resurrection, have dispersed and many of the individuals that attended will not be seen or heard from until next year. The beautiful Easter lilies and flower arrangements that decorated the narthex, nave, and altar have already begun to whither and fade. In some sense, they serve as perfect metaphors for our individual and collective lives in Christ.

Among the few hundred or so Orthodox Christians in the Tri-Cities region, there exist two extremes and many gradual variations between. First, we have those individuals who attend our parish frequently, who partake of the Body and Blood of our Savior nearly every time it is offered, and who are always present to lend a helping hand in the life of the community.
