Fellowship Today's fellowship is hosted by the Nicholas Family in memory of their Beloved Mother Aliki Nicholas. Everyone is invited to Plato Hall to enjoy fellowship.

ANNUAL PANAGIA NAMESDAY APPEAL: The Annual Panagia Appeal has been sent to all parishioners/stewards of our beloved Parish of Assumption. We respectfully ask as we approach the days of August in preparation of Feast of the Dormition of the Panagia, that you remember your Church and our Patron Saint of this Parish, the Blessed Theotokos, with your prayers and gift. It is through your continued support and love that allows this Church, through the Theotokos, to minister and continue to spread the Grace, Love and Word of Jesus Christ.

SUNDAY CHURCH SCHOOL TEACHER/AIDE OPENINGS: On Sunday, September 13th, the Sunday Church School will begin another year. There are still a few openings left for teachers/aides. Specifically, we are in need of a kindergarten teacher, as well as aides to teachers in several grades. Please consider offering your time and talent and become part of our teaching staff of our Assumption Sunday Church School. The basic requirements are a love for your Church, your Faith, and of course, a love for children. You can direct your questions or sign up by seeing either our S.C.S. Direct, Mrs. Christina Arvanites, or Father Timothy.

I DON'T GET ANYTHING OUT OF THE LITURGY Priests throughout our Archdiocese often hear this complaint countless times. The truth, however, is that we do not come to Church primarily to get something "out" of the Divine Liturgy. Rather, we come to the Divine Liturgy in order to give of ourselves, of our possessions, and our whole being to God. This is what we do when we place ourselves on the Holy Table through the prosphoron, or Altar bread, which expresses the giving of our life to God. It is only when we first give of ourselves to God, that we shall be able to get something out of the Divine Liturgy. And what we will get is the presence of the Lord Jesus within us. We shall carry Him out of the Church with us to bring Him as Christ-bearers to others. Stewardship is far more than giving a portion of our financial resources and talents back to God as we have been duly blessed. It is also about giving our "being"...... giving of ourselves to His Glory and His Ministry! - Taken from the Stewardship Department of the Holy Archdiocese of America.

Annual Assumption Labor Day Festival: Our beloved Parish of Panagia will hold its annual Labor Day Festival on the Church grounds on Sunday/Monday, September 6th and 7th. This year’s Chairpersons for the Festival are Mrs. Christina Arvanites and Mrs. Tina Sarantos. Father Timothy, James Lakerdas, President of the Parish Council, and the members of the Parish Council are grateful to Christina and Tina for accepting this responsibility and giving of their time and talents to our Panagia Community. We are in need of your help and talents during our Festival Days. In this Bulletin is a Flyer with info. Should you wish to be a part of the team and give your help to our Panagia Community, please sign-up during the Coffee Fellowship Hour, or call one of the Festival Chairpersons.

Summer Worship Schedule: Please note that each Sunday through Labor Day, Sunday Orthros will begin at 8:00am, followed by the Divine Liturgy at 9:30am. Weekday Orthros/Divine Liturgy Services will begin at the normal time of 8:30am/9:30am.

Please Note The Sacraments of the Orthodox Church, including the reception of Holy Communion, are reserved for those of the Orthodox Faith only, and who are also in Good Standing Ecclesiastically with the Church. If you are a visitor from another Denomination/Faith, we welcome you as an observer and guest.
