FOOD DRIVE The church school will be collecting canned goods for the  Crombie Street Shelter and Haven From Hunger.    These food   pantries  are in  desperate  need of supplies.  Please make every effort to contribute to this very worthy cause especially during the Christmas Season. Collections may be dropped off at the Giving Tree in the foyer of the Rev. Andrew J Demotses Educational Center.


St. Stephen’s Volunteers The St. Stephen’s volunteers have begun visitations for The Holy Season of Christmas. Fr. Panteleimon and Deacon Michael will also be visiting the home-bound to administer the sacrament of Holy Communion. These visitations will continue through January 7, 2008.

The Ladies of the St. Vasilios Philoptochos will be making their annual Christmas visitation to area nursing homes and to the parish home bound beginning on December 17th.

If you are aware of a parishioner of St. Vasilios who is in need of a visitation by the St. Stephen’s Volunteers or one of the clergy please telephone the church office at 978-531-0777.

Centennial History Album Christmas Gift This year, we have an opportunity for a unique gift during this holiday season, our Centennial history album. This album is not only a permanent record of the Centennial year, but also contains a comprehensive history of our parishes first 100 years. Christmas Pageant The Sunday School Christmas Pageant will be held at the end of the first liturgy on Sunday, December 16th in the church. GREEK TRADITIONS & CUSTOMS BOOK Mary Franggos (978-531-1336) has copies of “A Guide to Greek Traditions and Customs in America” by Mary Rouvelas for sale at $30/copy.


PTA NEWS The Christmas Community Breakfast will be Sunday, December 23rd. We are in need of help for set up on the Saturday before and serving at the breakfast. Please contact Christine Martins if you can help @ 978-774-8273.

Please join us on Sunday, December 30th as we welcome you back to St. Vasilios during your college break. Please join us for the first Divine Liturgy, followed by a special coffee hour of refreshments and fellowship. Christmas Giving Tree The Christmas Giving Tree has been set up in the foyer of the educational center. The Church School’s grades 7 and 8 came together to make ornaments and grade 6 decorated the tree. This year we will be sponsoring the Plummer Home for Boys in Salem, as well as the Philoxenia House in Boston, and again we will remember our military men and women serving around the world. Please remember those less fortunate in our communities by taking an ornament from the tree and returning the gift by Sunday, December 16th

requests the pleasure of your company at our Annual Christmas Party.

FRIDAY, the 14th of December at 6:30 o`clock in the evening at the
Reverend Andrew J. Demotses Education Center, St. Vasilios Church,
Peabody, MA
 A catered buffet will be presented by Joanne Venios. $10.00 per person will be charged.
Presbytera Claire will give us a candy making presentation.
We will enjoy the music played by a DJ.
 In lieu of the Christmas raffle amongst the members, it is requested that you bring a $10 gift (i.e., paper goods, phone cards, dishtowels or a $10.00 cash gift) to be donated to the Philoxenia House.

Community Christmas Breakfast Continuing a yearly tradition, our community will gather together once again for the Christmas Community on Sunday, December 23rd immediately following the Divine Liturgy. On that day, the Divine Liturgy will begin at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will consist of eggs, home fries, muffins, coffee or milk for the reasonable price of $5 per person. Community Credit Union Donation Program From June 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007 the Credit Union will donate $100 to the St. Vasilios Building Fund for every member of St. Vasilios who will open a savings and a checking account at the Peabody branch (32 Central St.), up to a maximum of $5000. Please consider helping the church by opening an account, and don’t forget to mention that you are a St. Vasilios member!
