St. George Church on West 54th has been invited to join the New York City CROP Hunger Walk in April 2009. CROP Walk is a national program of over 2,000 walks sponsored by Church World Service, a partnership of the Archdiocese and 34 other Orthodox and Protestant churches. Last year the New York City Walk raised over $34,000 to support various hunger-fighting programs. You can read more about CROP Walk at http://www.cropwalk.org .
We need one or two people to coordinate St. George`s involvement in the Walk and to work with the local organizing committee. If you are interested, please contact Fr. Jim at FrJimK@goarch.org .
If you have questions about the CROP walk program, you can contact John Paterakis at Holy Trinity Cathedral at pateraki@pipeline.com , or at (212) 685-2411.
