March 23-25, 2006 - Pappas Patristic Institute Pappas Patristic Institute Graduate Students Conference. Here it is:

To all Holy Cross Seminarians and Spouses:

This is an invitation to attend the upcoming Archbishop Iakovos Graduate Students Conference in Patristic Studies, or at least as much of it as your schedule will allow. The event will be held on campus on March 23 – 25, 2006 at the Maliotis Center, beginning with Thursday evening Vespers and ending with Saturday dinner. Graduate student participants are coming from the US, Canada, and Europe to hear and discuss fellow student papers in the field of Patristic studies. In all, 30 papers will be presented by graduate students on various topics relating to the Church Fathers; three of the papers will be presented by Holy Cross students.

The only thing that we request from those who wish to attend is that you register prior to the conference so that we can have name tags printed ahead of time. To register, please provide your name, contact information, and degree program to Dr. Bruce Beck, Associate Director of the Pappas Patristic Institute, at beck.bruce@comcast.net. There is no conference registration fee.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Paschalis and Soula who have been instrumental in the planning and publicity of the conference in concert with other graduate student volunteers from other schools.

April 8 , 2006 - Lenten Retreat: Coming Home: Uncovering the Image The St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox parish in Cotuit, MA (62 Main St.) is having an Adult Lenten Retreat with the theme: “Coming Home: Uncovering the Image.” The presenter will be Fr. Antony Hughes. The retreat is free for HC/HC students.
