Who are Myrrhbearers? Those who sing in church are myrrhbearers.
Those who clean the church are myrrhbearers.
Those who prepare the flowers for the services are myrrhbearers.
Those who look after the garden are myrrhbearers.
Those who bake prosphora are myrrhbearers.
Even those who simply come and pray for the salvation of all are myrrhbearers.

A PASCHAL MESSAGE FROM NATIONAL PHILOPTOCHOS “The obstacles and the huge stones that at times stand in our way throughout our life will be removed by Christ as we approach Him in faith and in service. We fret, as the myrrh bearing women did, as to how the task of moving the stone will occur. We learn from the Resurrection narrative that the huge stones we face in our life will never prevent us from approaching the merciful Christ because He will have already moved them even before we encounter them. We must offer exactly what the holy women offered: faith and the will to serve Him.”
— President Aphrodite Skeadas, Orthodox Observer, April 2012

THE CHURCH Do not hold aloof from the Church, for
nothing is stronger than the Church. The Church is your hope, your salvation, your refuge. It is higher than the heavens, it is wider than the earth. It never waxes old, but is
always in full vigor.
— St. John Chrysostom
