OCF NEWS AND WALK FOR HUNGER
Last week’s “Walk For Hunger” event was a great success.
We celebrated Divine Liturgy early Sunday morning at the Cathedral Chapel, walked for a great cause and then enjoyed an end-of-year dinner and celebration at the Chetsas home where co-chairs for OCF 09/10 were elected. Congratulations to Chris Nakis and Chris Resmini and many thanks to outgoing chair, Mina Koukos, for her service and loving commitment to OCF. Thanks to the generosity of our parish family and hard work of our students, we raised over $1,000 for Project Bread.
The funds will be used to support local food pantries and fight hunger in the greater Boston area.
It is still not too late to offer donations on behalf of our St. Demetrios.Brandeis team.
Please see Fr. Alex A.S.A.P. to offer yours.
Thanks to all for the support!
NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR RECEIVING THE VINE
Many of our stewards currently are using the Internet more and more.
As a result, they receive timely and important information from many sources, including St. Demetrios.
In the near future, a user-friendly electronic link to The Vine will be mailed monthly to our parishioners, rather than a hard-copy.
If you prefer a paper copy instead of an electronic copy, simply contact the Church Office.
To name a few of the many benefits of this new system:
·Receive the Vine more quickly each month
·Enjoy graphics and lively community pictures in rich color.
·Be able to save/archive our Vine issues they can be easily referenced.
·Contribute to conservation as we will vastly cut down on printing/paper usage.

The Metropolis Awards Dinner will take place on Sunday, June 14th at Lombardo’s in Randolph, MA.
Spiro “Spike” Gavris is the recipient of this year’s award and our St. Demetrios representative.
The award, which often times is referred to as “Parishioner of the Year” by us, honors an individual’s contribution to their respective parish.
Tickets are available at $75 per person and should be arranged through St. Demetrios so we may all sit together and honor Spike as well as represent our beloved parish.

ST. FRANCIS HOUSE OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY
Founded in 1984, St. Francis House is the largest day shelter in New England, offering compassionate aid to those who cannot help themselves and to those able to take steps to move themselves up and out of
