'Kneeling Vespers' of the Holy Spirit today
Immediately following the Divine Liturgy, we will continue our worship today with the celebration of the Great Vespers of the Holy Spirit, also known as the "Kneeling Vespers" because of the special kneeling prayers offered during the service in which we invoke the promised gift of the Holy Spirit given by the Lord prior to His Holy Ascension. Though somewhat lengthy and theological in nature, the prayers offer a tremendously powerful insight into the role and power of the Holy Spirit in our Church and our life. Please remain in place at the conclusion of the Liturgy today for this special blessing. It is a great gift for us all!
Loukoumathes Today
In honor of the Holy Trinity Feast Day, the Philoptochos will offer their annual tradition of fresh, homemade Loukoumathes during Coffee Hour. Your donations support the important ministries and outreach of the Philoptochos Society. Thank you, ladies, for all your hard work and for this delicious annual treat!
Holy Trinity Feast Day Divine Liturgy Tomorrow

Please be there to celebrate this great event in the life of your Church!
Offices Closed for Holy Trinity Feast Day
The church office will be closed on Monday, June 8, in honor and celebration of our parish Feast Day. Hronia Polla to the entire community!
Festival Cooking ... Here We Go Again!
Thanks to the many volunteers who helped with the cooking needed for the just-completed Spring Festival. And now...don’t forget...we still have the Summer Greek Festival to cook and plan for, September 3-6! Please note the dates on your schedule and step up to your place once again as a Holy Trinity steward. This is a big year and we have big community plans ahead, so it will require an even bigger-than ever effort from everyone! In June, there will be pastries cooking on the following dates:
June 8: 12:00 noon - 4:00pm and 4:00pm - 9:00pm
June 15: 10:00am - 4:00pm and 4:00pm - 9:00pm
June 22: 10:00am - 4:00pm and 4:00pm - 9:00pm
Why two sets of times? There are now day and evening shifts. Of course, anyone is welcome to stay for all the fun, but please at least try to offer one time slot each time. This is being done to accomodate people’s varying schedules and still provide a productive work time for everyone. Everyone is invited and asked to help. Bring a friend and pack a snack. Call Joyce Athanasiou (412-322-6002) regarding pastry preparation, Paula Valliant (412-487-3977) for dolmathes or Kay Balouris (412-766-1263) for other food cooking dates.

9:30 Regular Hours for Divine Liturgy Now in Effect
Don’t forget, the regular 9:30 Divine Liturgy schedule is now in effect. The time changes to 9:30 a.m. for both Sunday and weekday services through October. Please set your clocks and your personal schedules to be there on time. Thank you!
Summer Attire Reminder
Please remember that even during the summer months when many people like to keep things "casual," entering the Holy Church is still a sacred experience which our preparation and attire should reflect. Everyone should refrain from wearing shorts and t-shirts and women are asked, as usual, to wear dresses or skirts instead of pants. While we will not impress the Lord with clothing, we will honor Him with our modesty and piety. As the scriptures say, "Holiness befits Your house, O Lord, for evermore" (Psalm 93.5).
Summer Sermons Reminder - Be Here On Time!
Please don`t forget that during the summer months, when there is no Church School, the sermon is offered at its proper liturgical place following the Gospel. Much as we are all reminded how important it is to arrive for the start of Divine Liturgy, perhaps there are times of genuine, urgent need that prohibit our personal on-time arrival. If you arrive during the sermon, please remember to quietly enter through the Narthex to the BACK of the Nave (either along the glass wall or in the back row of pews) and wait there until the sermon is over. If there is room in the back row to sit, you may do so, but please do NOT distract others by walking forward to your pew during the sermon. Also, please do make your late arrival a double-penalty by missing the entire sermon waiting in the Narthex. The Narthex doors are to remain open during the sermon so that all may benefit from the lessons about our Faith.
Note for Summer Travel - Don't Forget Church!
Where we travel, whenever we go, we take our faith with us, for as it says in the Psalms, "God is with us!" Keeping that in mind, please remember to plan ahead and check for the location of the nearest Orthodox Christian Church if you will be staying over a Sunday. There are two great web sites to check: our own Archdiocese (www.goarch.org) and Orthodoxy in America (www.OrthodoxyInAmerica.org), a multi-jurisdictional listing of all Orthodox parishes. Also, for major trips such as overseas travels, please feel free to stay following antidoron and ask Father John to offer a special blessing to your family for your travels. Remember, "God is with us" always. Let`s not forget to invite Him!
