Christmas Luncheon for Seniors Sponsored by Philoptochos - December 1 A message from Philoptochos: "The Ladies Philoptochos Society is hosting a Christmas Party Luncheon on Thursday, December 1, for ALL seniors of Holy Trinity Church, ages 60 and over. Lunch starta at 1:00pm. It you are 60 or over and have not received an invitation, please see Kay Balouris to be added to the list. If you plan on attending, please remember that you MUST call or see Kay (412-766-1263) to reserve a spot and make a lunch choice. It is our gift to honor you, and we look forward to sharing the afternoon with you to celebrate the Christmas season!"

Parish Council Elections Next Sunday During Coffee Hour As indicated in the notice to the recent General Assembly, regular Parish Council elections will be held next Sunday, December 4, following the Divine Liturgy. Please be present. Voting will start immediately following the Divine Liturgy. Standard voting rules as practiced in previous elections and assemblies apply: you must be a member in good standing (current and past stewardship as well as sacramental) to vote. (Please note: even though there are the same number of candidates as there are open spots, the Uniform Parish Regulations of the Archdiocese require us to hold the election to fulfill the legal requirements.)

Saint Lydia Women’s Study Ministry - Dec. 1 The St Lydia Women’s Study Fellowship is now in its 12th year! If you have missed out on this wonderful time with fellow sisters in Christ sharing, learning and growing in faith, maybe this is the year you can join in! This group is open to women of ALL ages and ALL places in life! They do not know everything...they are learning, so please don’t feel that you don’t know enough to attend! This year they are studying a selection of the Epistles of the New Testament using a book entitled “Universal Truth: The Catholic Epistles of James, Peter, Jude, and John” (An Orthodox Bible Study Companion). Meetings are held every other Thursday at St George Chapel, 8941 Ringeisen Road, Allison Park. 9:30 - Coffee and Fellowship; 10:00 - 11:15 Study. Community Christmas Card and Holiday Poinsettias Forms Due Dec. 12 The December issue of the Herald contains a form for the Holy Trinity Community Christmas Card. If you would like to include your name in this annual community tradition, please be sure to submit your form and donation to the Church Office by December 12. Also, if you would like to donate one or more flowers in memory of a loved one or in honor of a special person or event, please complete the form and return it to the Church Office with your donation by December 12. Thank you!

2011 Christmas Tree Gift Tags - Please Be Generous! Philoptochos is once again coordinating the annual Christmas Tree tags to benefit the children of Auberle, a local charity. Auberle’s mission is to care for abused, neglected and troubled children throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania. They help thousands of children and their families through residential care, foster care, emergency shelter, in-home intervention, education and community programs. Want to help? Take a tag from the tree during Coffee Hour. Each tag has information about the child and the gift request. Sometimes gift cards are appropriate, other times gifts themselves are best. All gifts must be unwrapped and returned with the assigned gift tag. GIFTS ARE DUE BACK SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11. Please don’t be late or a child may be left without a gift. Safe Thanksgiving Travels to All! As we conclude the national celebration of Thanksgiving, may our merciful Lord continue to shed His bountiful blessings upon our country, our community, our Church and our families! As many people return to their schools and homes today, please remember to begin and end any trips with prayers asking for God`s blessings and divine protection on the road and in the air.

HOLY TRINITY GROUNDBREAKING: DECEMBER 11TH! His Eminence Metropolitan Savas has blessed December 11, 2011, as the official Groundbreaking date for our new church project and will be with us that day as our new Metropolitan to greet us and lead us into the future! Please be aware of the schedule for that day and plan on attending:
- The day will start with Orthros at 8:30 and Divine Liturgy at 9:30am.
- Following the Liturgy we will have a Coffee Hour to honor the first visit of His Eminence Metropolitan Savas and to refresh us for the afternoon events.
- The Groundbreaking will take place at 1:00 at the new property at an actual construction spot. Parking will not be available on the new property, so arrangements are being made to transport us all there.
- Following the Groundbreaking Service there will be a Groundbreaking Luncheon at Wildwood Country Club. Reservations are required and can be made following Divine Liturgy today.

A table is set up in the hall on the way to Coffee Hour today to purchase tickets for the December 11th Groundbreaking Luncheon at Wildwood Country Club. Please be there to celebrate this great day in the life of Holy Trinity Church, our families and the entire Orthodox Christian community of the Pittsburgh region.

Enthronement Plans for His Eminence Metropolitan Savas The Metropolis of Pittsburgh has announced the enthronement plans for our new Metropolitan, His Eminence Metropolitan Savas. The events will take place at St. Nicholas Cathedral. They are as follows:
Thursday, December 8 - Enthronement
- 4:00pm: Enthronement Service
- 5:00pm: Reception
- 6:00pm: Dinner
Friday, December 9 - The Conception of St. Anna
- 9:00 am: Orthros
- 10:00 am Hierarchal Divine Liturgy. Lunch will follow

FOCUS Women’s Business Attire Clothing Drive During month of October, Philoptochos will be holding a women’s business atttire clothing drive. These items will be donated to FOCUS Pittsburgh to assist needy women going for job interviews. Items can include suits, dresses, shoes, jackets & coats. Please deposit them in the designated collection box during Coffee Hour.

Help Welcome Holy Trinity Guests! Help us show our Holy Trinity Hospitality! We now have beautiful gold felt crosses for our visitors each Sunday, thanks to Presvytera Eileen Sedor and our Hospitality and Visitors Committee. If you see someone wearing a gold felt Cross, please greet them and welcome them to our community! Remember, "Hospitality" is one of the main goals of our mission here at Holy Trinity Church!
