Resurrectional Apolytikion Third Tone

Let the heavens rejoice and the earth be glad, for the Lord has shown the power of His reign: He has conquered death by death, and become the first born of the dead. He has delivered us from the depths of Hades, and has granted the world great mercy.

Apolytikion of the Church

Kontakion of the Forefeast of the Nativity of the Theotokos

Today the Theotokos, the Virgin Mary, by divine design is born of one thought sterile. She is the eternal bridal chamber of the heavenly bridegroom, the chariot of the divine Word. For this was she predestined, as the gate of heaven and Mother of life.

"He gave His Only-begotten Son," not a servant, not an Angel, not an Archangel. And yet no one would show such  ...Read Full Text >
