WALK A THON
Sat., May 2 join fellow parishioners as we walk in our founders' footsteps from our old location at 3300 Wooster Rd. (now Buna Vestire Romanian Orthodox Church) to St. Demetrios, followed by a cookout. Walkers may choose from the 4-mile Round Trip or the 2-mile One Way option. Adults $20; Children 12 & younger $15; Toddlers are free. Proceeds to go toward making facility exterior doors ADA and fire code complaint, with a special gift to the Buna Vestire building fund. If you have not yet registered, you can still do so right after church on Sunday in the lower Narthex. First 20 people can still get a t-shirt.
A few shuttle driver volunteers are still needed.

On Mother`s Day, Sun., May 10 (Sunday School grades 3rd-High School) will chant the Divine Liturgy promptly at 9:30am. Teachers: please usher your students to the choir loft and pick them up before the sermon. Thanks to all who joined us during Holy Week!

HONOR THY FATHER AND MOTHER
Philoptochos Society is honoring parish parents on both Mother’s Day and Father`s Day this year. On those days, both living and deceased individuals remembered by their loved ones will be included in a printed program distributed in church as well as in a special memorial (Trisagion) service honoring the beloved, deceased family members of our community. Parishioners can honor their loved ones by completing the forms for both occasions which are available at Church.

Volunteers must be 18 or older, but 16 and 17-year-olds will be accepted, if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. IONIAN VILLAGE GRANT Faith: An Endowment for Orthodoxy and Hellenism, will generously fund a limited number of both partial- and full-travel scholarships for high school students that demonstrate financial need, to participate in travel abroad summer camp program of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. The three-week program at the campsite in Greece includes guided excursions to important cultural and religious and athletic events, catechetical discussions, and educational sessions. NAFPACTIAKE FRATERNITY SCHOLARSHIP Students of Greek ancestry enrolled in a full-time in an accredited undergraduate, graduate or technical school program with a GPA of 3.3 or higher may apply. Applications are in the office. Submissions due Aug. 30, 2009.
PAN-HELLENIC SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION 25 deserving high school graduates or college students of high scholastic achievement AND financial need who are of Greek descent will each be awarded a $10,000 grant.
