Nick Hillman will run a skills camp for all GOYA basketball for three weeks, assisted by the other coaches. Girls’ Camp will be on Tue/Thu 7-9 p.m., Nov. 310 & 12. Boys’ camp will be on Mon/Wed 7-9 p.m., Nov. 9, and 11.

HARVEST FOR HUNGER Thu., Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. Philoptochos invites you to a meting in the Fellowship Room to learn more about the Cleveland Food Bank. We will be collecting both monetary and non-perishable food donations. The most preferred canned goods being: beef stew, soup, canned vegetables, cereal, peanut butter and tuna fish.

CHRISTMAS CORNUCOPIA CRAFT FAIR Sun., Nov. 22 from 11:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. in the hall. Start your shopping early through a variety of craft booths (jewelry, embroidery, gourmet foods, etc.) from vendors both in and outside our parish. There will also be a Flea Market and Used Book sale to benefit Philoptochos. We are now collecting small items and used books, so start looking through your bookshelves and attic. FLEA MARKET COLLECTION Starting Mon., Nov. 16, we will begin collecting items for the Flea Market and Used Book booth that Philoptochos will have at the Craft Fair on Sun., Nov. 22. Bring in your used books, videos/DVDs, CDs, video games and small home items to the Fellowship Room all that week during office hours.

THANKSGIVING LUNCH-LESS LUNCH This year, in lieu of their annual fundraising luncheon, St. Mary of Egypt is sponsoring a “Lunch-less Lunch.” Purchase a $10 “Meal Ticket” and all the proceeds will go toward purchasing food for Cleveland’s needy families. SINGERS SOUGHT The Pan-Orthodox Young Adult Fellowship of greater Cleveland is forming a choir to sing in this year’s Pan-Orthodox Nativity Concert, scheduled for Dec. 13. ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS Application forms for all of Cuyahoga County’s energy assistance programs (HEAP, PIPP, HWAP) are available in the magazine rack in the Narthex. Help is available to qualifying young families as well as senior citizens; homeowners and renters alike. (Income guidelines are listed in the form.) Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2010.

The Election Committee has mailed out the Petitions for Candidacy for all those who are interested in running for 2010-11 parish council. All Orthodox adults who are in Good Standing are encouraged to serve on this very important ministry at least one term during their membership at St. Demetrios Church. QUARTERS FOR THE HUNGRY
In November and December, Sunday School is encouraging all its students to bring a quarter to class every week, to benefit St. Mary of Egypt Monastery. With each .25, the monastery can purchase 2 pounds of food through the Cleveland Foodbank, benefiting needy families in the Cleveland area.
