Resurrectional Apolytikion Plagal of the First Tone
Eternal with the Father and the Spirit is the Word, Who of a Virgin was begotten for our salvation. As the faithful we both praise and worship Him, for in the flesh did He consent to ascend unto the Cross, and death did He endure and He raised unto life the dead through His all glorious resurrection. - Translation from Green Hymnal

Apolytikion for Sunday of Orthodoxy
We worship Thine immaculate icon, O Good One, asking the forgiveness of our failings, O Christ our God; for of Thine own will Thou wast well-pleased to ascend the Cross in the flesh, that Thou mightest deliver from slavery to the enemy those whom Thou hadst fashioned. Wherefore, we cry to Thee thankfully: Thou didst fill all things with joy, O our Saviour, when Thou camest to save the world. - Translation by Holy Transfiguration Monastery

Apolytikion of the Church
Let us honor Saint Barbara, for she hath broken the snares of the enemy; and like a sparrow, she, the all-modest maiden, was delivered out of them by the help and weapon of the Cross. - Translation by Holy Transfiguration Monastery

Kontakion
To you, Theotokos, invincible Defender, having been delivered from peril, I, your city, dedicate the victory festival as a thank offering. In your irresistible might, keep me safe from all trials, that I may call out to you: "Hail, unwedded bride!" - Translation by Narthex Press

...I say to all; Watch!
….I say to all; Watch (Mark 13:37)/ With these words our Lord Jesus Christ pointed out the great significance of man`s life – heavenly gift of beauty and great mystery. The God-loving Fathers of the Church meditating on the great purpose of man`s life compared it the sea, where storms and misfortunes await man. Everyone knows how attention and circumspect one be to steer a ship clear of rocks and ...Read Full Text >
