FALL GENERAL ASSEMBLY Following Divine Liturgy, this Sunday, we will be holding our rescheduled Fall Assembly. This is an extremely important meeting, and we need a quorum to conduct business. Among other things, we will be presenting a late-breaking refinance option for the church mortgage, presenting the proposed 2010 budget, and holding nominations for the 2010 Parish Council. Please plan to attend this vital meeting.

ORTHODOX MISSIONS AWARENESS PAN ORTHODOX MISSIONS AWARENESS FAMILY EVENING
Thank you to everyone who attended the OCMC event at the Assumption Cathedral last Sunday evening. Over $5000 was raised for the OCMC & over $1000 for the Hoppe ministry.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE Philoptochos is collecting donations for the Thanksgiving Food Drive. The turkeys will be donated but we’ll need dry and canned goods to make up Thanksgiving dinners for the less fortunate in our parish and local community. Suggested items are: boxed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, canned cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, etc.
Also needed are nutritious standard pantry items such as tuna fish (preferably with lift off lids), stews, canned meats, canned fruits and vegetables, etc. Drop off boxes will be located in the narthex of the church and in the fellowship hall.
Please remember the less fortunate this Thanksgiving season and pick up extra items during your next grocery trip for donation. If you have any questions, please contact Sharon Dzilvelis.

HEADSTART ANGEL PROGRAM The Head Start Angel Program continues this Sunday. Please take an angel (or two!) from the tree, sign them out, grab an Art Mart bag, and follow the instructions on the bag. Gifts are due back Sunday December 6th.

WINTER TEEN RETREAT Join area teens for the annual winter retreat from December 28-30th at Rocky Mountain Mennonite Camp in Divide, CO. Please see Dana Gall for more information, or pick up one of the information packets in the Narthex. The deadline is December 14th.

CHURCH CLEANING & DECORATION The Christmas Church Cleaning and Decoration will take place on Saturday, December 5th. Bring the family and join the Philoptochos as we clean and decorate the church for the Nativity season. Weather permitting, we will do some grounds cleanup outside, as well. We will begin at 10:00 am and break for a potluck luncheon at about 12:00 pm. Come and join us for a day of fellowship and service to our church!

LENTEN RECIPE BOOK With the Nativity fast upon us, those of us who prepare the meals in our homes are taking out those special Lenten recipes. The Philoptochos would like to collect the recipes for your favorite Lenten dishes, and they will compile the recipes and publish a cookbook for our members. Please send your recipes to Cindy Stamus at thestamii@earthlink.net.

OLD CHICAGO PIZZA PALZ Old Chicago Pizza Palz are back! Purchase a gift certificate for $11 from the Philoptochos and receive a Large pizza of your choice at Old Chicago (up to $22 value). See Julie Powers today to make your purchase!

GROCERY CARDS Philoptochos is selling grocery gift cards in $25, $50, & $100 denominations for Safeway & King Soopers.  The cards are used like cash when groceries are purchased. Philoptochos makes money from the sale of the cards which is used for national, metropolis and local (church & Boulder County) philanthropic programs.  In 2008 Philoptochos made a little over $2,500 from the grocery cards.

You are welcome to worship with us this morning, but please be aware that unless you are a baptized and chrismated (confirmed) member of the Orthodox Church, you may not receive communion. This is the teaching of the Holy Orthodox Church. If you would like more information, please fill out the cards found in the pews or speak to any member of the Parish Council.
