Beginning our Holy Week Together
Rev. Fr. Nektarios Morrow, April 4, 2004
Beloved Parishioners of Holy Cross,
As we begin the commemoration of Great and Holy Week in anticipation of our celebration of Pascha, may I offer to you and to God my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to be with you during this most sacred season of the year. This time has been given to us by our Lord to pray and worship together. It is also a time for us to provide a witness of the beauty and spiritual riches of our Orthodox faith.
My sincere prayer is that each one of you will join us for the services of Holy Week. Each day we will share in the ministry and Passion of our Lord as He journeyed to the Cross for our salvation. As His people, we will gather to honor His sacrifice, knowing that through death He defeated death and sin so that we might have eternal life.
Let us also pray that this week will draw each and every one of us closer to our Savior and to one another. As we commemorate the glorious work of Christ, He will be calling us to make a deeper commitment to Him, He will ask of us a greater willingness to serve others, and He will lead us in sharing faith and life in a world that desperately needs hope and salvation.
May the blessings and grace of the Holy Trinity strengthen you for the week ahead as you prepare to receive the Risen Lord.
In His Service,
Fr. Nektarios
