Beloved Parishioners of Holy Cross,
I hope and pray you are doing well. I regret that I was not able to be with you this past Sunday due to my accident. For those who have not heard, I hit two deer while traveling to Wichita Falls on Sunday morning. I was not injured, but my car was damaged and is now being repaired. Thank you for your prayers, phone calls, and concern.
At the present time, there is not a priest available to conduct services during Holy Week and for Pascha at our parish. I was asked by Metropolitan Isaiah to assist in Dallas due to the need for an additional priest. I will be traveling to Dallas on April 13 and will assist with pastoral needs and conduct services for Holy Week. I ask for your prayers. This is difficult for all of us, as both the Metropolitan and I have tried to make arrangements for Holy Cross.
Enclosed I have included the service schedule for St. Benedict`s. You are also encouraged to contact the parish of your choice to inquire about service times. If you need assistance, phone numbers, or any other information, please contact me. I have also enclosed a schedule of our services from April through August.
My plans are to be in Wichita Falls on Sunday, April 30. I have asked Tom Holley, our parish council president, to consult with the council regarding our Paschal luncheon and the options of when we can have it. I ask all of you to pray and worship when and where you can during Holy Week, and Lord willing, we will be back together again in a few weeks. We will look forward to a blessed Holy Week next year. Also be assured that I am not planning on leaving the parish anytime soon.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding any of this, please feel free to call me (325-200-5336) or send me an email. I will be available during Holy Week in the event of an emergency.
Thank you for all of your love and prayers, and may we carry this burden together and continue to be faithful to God and to one another.
I wish each and everyone of you a blessed and joyous Pascha.
Fr. Nektarios
