Resurrectional Apolytikion
O Merciful One, You came from on high, and condescended to Your three day burial to save us from suffering. You are our Life and our Resurrection. Glory to You. -Translation by Narthex Press

Apolytikion for The Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple
Today is the prelude of God's pleasure and the proclamation of man's salvation. The Virgin is clearly made manifest in the temple of God and foretells Christ to all. Let us also cry out to her with mighty voice, "Hail, fulfillment of the Creator's dispensation." -Translation by Narthex Press

Kontakion
Today, the most pure temple of the Savior, the precious bridal chamber and Virgin, the sacred treasure of God, enters the house of the Lord, bringing the grace of the Divine Spirit. The Angels of God praise her. She is the heavenly tabernacle. -Translation by Narthex Press

Apolytikion for Katherine the Great Martyr of Alexandria
Let us praise the most auspicious bride of Christ, the divine Katherine, protectress of Sinai, our aid and our help. For, she brilliantly silenced the eloquence of the impious by the sword of the spirit, and now, crowned as a martyr, she asks great mercy for all. -Translation by Narthex Press

For this reason the Lord, who knew what He gave her, said, Mary has chosen the good part. But after a time the  ...Read Full Text >

Before everyone sits down to eat, traditionally

Some writings on giving thanks:

"Not that I complain of want; for I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content. I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound; in any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and want. I can do all things in Him who strengthens me." (Phillippians 4:11-13)

Paul is saying here that in spite of any trials and/or tribulations, no matter what our state, we must be content through Christ Who gives us the strength to endure.

"...You should give thanks to God for everything...the teaching of the divine Apostle Paul should suffice you, when he says: `In every thing give thanks...` (1 Thess. 5:18). Add to this also St. Isaac who writes: `Gratitude from the receiver incites the giver to bestow gifts greater than before. He who is ungrateful in lesser things, is false and unjust in greater`...`Lips forever giving thanks receive God`s blessing, and a heart filled with
