MR. & MISS GOYA: Today Goya from throughout New Jersey will be vying for the Mr. & Miss Goya Title. The program will be held at the Pines Manor later this afternoon. Eva Zymaris and Nick Kominos are our representatives from St. Nicholas. We are very proud of both of them. The GOYA will be holding its monthly meeting this Tuesday at 7:30pm in the Parish Center.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: The Sunday school staff would like to welcome all new and returning families who registered last week. Registration will continue through today. GREEK SCHOOL: Greek School- On Friday, October 24th at 6:00 P.M., all of our Greek School students will present a short program commemorating OXI DAY. Please join us to honor and remember the heroism of the Greek Army who proudly declared "OXI" to Mussolini, denying the Italian army the right to invade Greece.

ORTHODOX LIFE 103: Our Fall Orthodox Life 103 lecture series began two weeks ago. This program offers an exciting opportunity for all faithful to participate in an enriching experience to deepen their understanding of the treasure of our Orthodox Faith. Professor Peter Salierno will be leading this program. We will be meeting in the Library/Rotunda at 7:15pm every Thursday through the second Thursday in December. This journey will take us into the Sacred Scriptures of our Church and focus on meeting Jesus Christ there and applying those insights to our daily experiences. All are welcome to attend.
PHILOPTOCHOS: Welcome back! Fall has arrived and The St. Nicholas Philoptochos Society is ready for another wonderful year filled with events. We will be having a general meeting on Wednesday, October 22 at the lovely home of Grace Theodorobeakos. Look for the invitation in the mail. Also on Monday, November 10, The Philoptochos will host their first fundraiser of the year. We will feature a Ladies Night Out at Seasons with a special guest Zumba dancer to get the party rolling. FAITH, HOPE & JOY: St. Nicholas will be continuing with our ministry for young children, from age 4 through 6th grade. The FAITH, HOPE and JOY ministry will take place once a month on a Friday evening directly following Greek School from 6:30pm – 8:30pm. The ages for each group is as follows: FAITH–5year olds and under; HOPE–grades 1-3: JOY–grades 4-6. After a light dinner (pizza), each group meets for the remainder of the evening rotating amongst three activities for 25 minute search in the gym, making crafts and in discussion in the Church. It will be lead by Fr. Mark and other dedicated parents. Please make every effort to allow your children to participate and own their own faith. The first FAITH, HOPE and JOY Ministry will take place on October 24. There will be a donation tray for dinner. For more information please contact Fr. DAUGHTERS OF PENELOPE: On October 17, 2008 the scholarship committee of the D.O.P together with our brother Ahepans will be holding a Wine Tasting and Dinner at the Brick House in Wyckoff.
